Stained and leaded glass windows are commonly expected to be colourful, opaque and floral in design, if not elaborately painted for churches and other religious applications.
This has and always will have its place.
But there is another modern or contemporary facet to this ancient craft.
This is the use of clear and textured glass, sometimes in combination with bevels, which both can be found in abundance, offered through all the major glass suppliers in North America.
This glass colaborates with bevels and the old-fashion lead, which outlines the design, and you end up with astonishing effects.
The light that pours through these exterior windows on a sunny, and for that matter everyday, casts beautiful spectrums of light and design in to the interior of the home.
An application like this meets a very important requirement, namely letting this light unabsorbed through these sidelights, doorfillings, window panes or transoms into your house and still providing privacy.
